On Point installs paver patios, walkways, driveways and outdoor living areas across the Sacramento area. Most residential patios take 3 to 6 days depending on size, drainage and how much excavation the site needs. Every job gets a fixed written scope before we break ground.

The base is the job

Sacramento summers are long. A patio that holds up here has to survive 105 degree afternoons, clay soil that swells in January, and about fifteen years of foot traffic without going wavy. Most of that comes down to what's under the pavers.

A paver patio is maybe 20% pavers. The rest is excavation, base rock, compaction and edge restraint. That's where cheap installs fail, because it's the part nobody sees once the job is done. Skip four inches of base and the patio looks great in June and looks like a skate park by the third winter.

Our crews came out of floor work, which means substrate is the thing we've always been paid to get right. Same discipline outside. We dig to depth, compact in lifts, set the drainage fall away from your foundation, and lock the edges before a single paver goes down. Ask any contractor bidding your patio how deep they're excavating and how many lifts they're compacting — the answer tells you everything about the bid.

Sacramento clay moves. Concrete answers by cracking: not if, when. A paver field answers by flexing, because it's thousands of individual pieces sitting on a compacted base instead of one rigid sheet. The real difference shows up in year eight — when a paver section settles we pull those pavers, fix the base, and reset them, and you can't find the repair afterward. On a poured slab, the repair is a patch you look at every time you walk outside.

The hardscape crew came over from Sierra Pavers, which now operates under the On Point name. Same people, same trucks, one company — one point of contact whether you're getting floors pulled inside or a patio built out back.

Our No Change Order Promise applies out here too. We walk the yard, check drainage and access, put the scope in writing, and that's what gets built. If we hit something unexpected underground, you hear about it before we touch it.

FAQ

Common questions.

How long does a paver patio take to install in Sacramento?

Most residential patios run 3 to 6 days. Excavation depth, site access and drainage work drive the timeline more than square footage does.

Do pavers need sealing?

Not required, but sealing helps with stain resistance and color retention, especially on driveways and around pools. We'll tell you whether your specific install is worth sealing rather than selling you on it by default.

Can you install pavers over an existing concrete slab?

Sometimes. It depends on the slab's condition, drainage, and whether the added height creates a threshold problem at your doors. We'll check during the estimate.

Do you handle drainage and grading?

Yes. Grading is part of the install, not an add-on. Water gets directed away from your foundation before anything gets set.

What areas do you serve?

Sacramento, Rancho Cordova, Roseville, Granite Bay, Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Rocklin, Elk Grove, Citrus Heights and Lincoln.
