On Point handles commercial floor removal across Sacramento for offices, retail spaces, medical suites and property management portfolios. Crews clear large areas per shift using ride-on equipment, and most jobs run nights or weekends so your space is open the next business day. We pull the old floor, prep the slab, haul the debris, and hand the installer a surface that's ready to go.
What we pull up
Your floor has to come out. The part that actually costs you money is everything around it. Dust in the HVAC. A suite you can't lease. Tenants calling the front desk. An installer standing around because the slab wasn't ready. That's the job we do.
We've been pulling floors in the Sacramento area for 8 years, and commercial work is where the ride-on machines earn their keep. A two-man crew with hand tools takes four days on a 6,000 square foot office. Ride-on equipment takes it out in a shift. You pay for one night of after-hours labor instead of a week of disruption.
VCT and linoleum, old commercial tile, cutback adhesive and the black mastic under 1970s and 80s installs. Direct-glue carpet and carpet tile taken to bare slab. Ceramic and porcelain over thinset or mud bed. Sheet vinyl and epoxy coatings, with grinding where the coating won't lift clean. Nail-down and glue-down hardwood and engineered plank.
If you don't know what's under your floor, neither does anyone else until it's open. We'll cut a test area during the walkthrough so the scope you get is based on what's actually there.
Every facilities manager asks about dust first, and they're right to. We run HEPA extraction at the machine, poly containment on the openings, and negative air where the space stays occupied. Return vents get sealed before anyone starts cutting. It isn't dust-free — anyone telling you otherwise hasn't done the work — but it's controlled well enough that the suite next door stays open. For medical and dental spaces, tell us during the walkthrough; containment goes up differently.
Removal that stops at "old floor is gone" isn't finished. Sacramento slabs hold moisture, and a slab that tests high will destroy a new install inside a year. We grind, patch and level after removal, and we can run moisture testing and install mitigation before anything new goes down. One crew from demo to ready-for-install means nobody gets to point at anyone else when something fails.

We're not your competition. We're your demo crew.
We don't sell your customer flooring and we don't quote your customer an install. We pull the old floor, prep the substrate, and get off your site. If you're a GC running a tenant improvement and demo keeps blowing your schedule, that's the call to make.

Common questions.
Yes, and for occupied commercial buildings we usually recommend it. After-hours crews keep your space open during business hours. Most office and retail jobs get scheduled outside working hours.
We walk the space, cut a test area, and confirm what's actually under the surface floor. Adhesive type, layer count, building access and slab condition all get checked before you get a number. You get one fixed scope and schedule before work starts, backed by our No Change Order Promise.
Older VCT and cutback adhesive can contain asbestos. We do not perform abatement. If testing comes back positive, we'll pause and coordinate with a licensed abatement contractor, then handle removal and prep after clearance.
Yes. Occupied buildings get containment, negative air and phased scheduling so we work one zone at a time. Common in medical offices, multi-tenant buildings and property management turns.
Yes, hauling and disposal are included. The slab is swept and ready for the next trade before we leave.
The variable isn't square footage, it's the adhesive. A floating LVT install over a clean slab comes up fast; a 1982 VCT floor set in cutback with three layers on top is triple the hours. Adhesive type, layer count, building access and whether the slab needs grinding all drive the timeline. We scope and schedule after we see it.
